Vermicelli Upma !!!


Vermicelli (Sevai) is often used to make deserts .It has lot of nutritional value and is a very healthy ingredient . But I prefer it the non-traditional way ….the UPMA way ….which is quiet wholesome for breakfast and a nutritious meal too.

Ingredients :   100 g of roasted Vermicelli very easily available in market ,Two teaspoon of cooking oil , 1 cup of Luke warm water , 1/4 cup chopped onions , 1/4 cup chopped capsicum , 1/4 cup chopped carrot ,1/4 cup diagonally cut french beans , 1/2 teaspoon of grated ginger, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, Salt to taste , One green chilly chopped ,1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds , pinch of kashmiri red chilly powder( you may avoid this) , Chopped coriander .

Servings : 2

Method :  Heat oil in a deep vessel , add mustard seeds  once its stops popping , slow the flame and add green chilly and grated ginger . Immediately add onions, french beans carrot and capsicum, saute the ingredients for about 2 to 3 minutes .Do not overcook the green veggies as little crunch is required in them for a better taste, now add all the dry spices with salt. stir for 30 sec and add vermicelli , luke warm water and chopped coriander .  cook until vermicelli becomes soft and tender .It should not take more than 2 mins to get ready . Serve hot ….enjoy the richness of all the nutrients.
